Why frako Controller is not working?
    • L
      Lucas AshleySep 10, 2025
If the frako Controller is not working and there is no display, it might be due to no power or the wrong voltage connected. Check that the correct instrument power supply is connected and that the fuse in the circuit has not blown.

How to fix frako Controller showing no value for current?
    • W
      Wendy RamosSep 9, 2025
If your frako Controller display shows no current value (0 A), there could be a few reasons: * There might be a break or short-circuit in the current transformer cable. Use an ammeter to check the current in the current path (I ? 0.015 A). * The current in the current path might be too low (I ? 0.015 A). Install a smaller current transformer. * The current transformer might be defective. Check the current transformer.

Why is the displayed cos ? less than target on my frako PQC even with all stages switched in?
    • D
      Danny SuttonAug 25, 2025
Several factors can cause this. The connection type might be entered incorrectly; re-select the connection type. There could be a fault in the control circuit, so check if the capacitor contactors have been activated. A fault in the capacitor circuit is also possible; check the fuses and contacts of the capacitor contactors, and measure the currents of each capacitor stage. Severe reactive power fluctuations can cause this, so read the corrective power still lacking from the menus. Lastly, a faulty calibration could be the reason; repeat the calibration procedure.

What to do if frako Controller indicates voltage is less than set alarm limit?
    • D
      David DanielSep 6, 2025
If the frako Controller indicates that the voltage is less than the set alarm limit, even though a voltage is displayed, it's likely that the alarm limit hasn't been adjusted for the network nominal voltage. To fix this, set the correct alarm limit for the network nominal voltage.

What to do if frako Controller shows no measured voltage and current?
    • E
      Emily PopeSep 5, 2025
If your frako Controller shows no measured voltage and no current, and you've verified the power and current are connected, it may be due to multiple zero-voltage crossings in the measured voltage. To resolve this, go to the Network nominal parameters settings and change the setting from Auto to the appropriate network frequency (50 Hz or 60 Hz).

What to do if frako PQC Controller shows 'Voltage less than set limit'?
    • L
      Lisa MillerSep 4, 2025
Set the correct alarm limit for the network nominal voltage, because the alarm limit has not been adjusted for the network nominal voltage. Note that the default setting is for 400 V networks and is triggered when the network voltage is less than 85 % of the nominal voltage.

What to do if frako PQC Controller displays 'Switching cycles greater than set limit'?

Replace the contactors concerned and clear their switching cycle counters.

Why are capacitor contactors not activated on my frako Controller?
    • R
      rebecca36Sep 1, 2025
This problem means that the control circuit is not connected properly or there is no control voltage. Check the control circuit against the connection diagram and check the fuse of your frako Controller.

Why does the LCD backlighting on my frako Controller flicker and restart?
    • M
      Mary WatsonAug 31, 2025
The issue is likely due to the instrument power supply voltage being too low. Check whether the correct voltage is reaching the frako Controller. Also, check for high contact resistance in the power supply circuit.

What does 'Zero stage detected' mean on my frako Controller?
    • R
      Ryan HardyAug 30, 2025
This error on the frako Controller may occur if capacitor stage(s) has/have lost capacitance, in this case, replace the capacitors. It can also be caused by an unstable network, where the PQC mistakenly detects a loss of capacitance, in this case, deactivate the zero stage detection function.
