Unit Does Not Cool/ Heat Room
Sufciently, or Cycles On And Off
Too Frequently (continued).
Operating in Cooling mode while the
outside temperature is below 60 °F
(16°C).
Donottrytooperateyourairconditionerinthe
coolingmodewhentheoutsidetemperatureis
below60°F(16°C).Theunitwillnotcoolprop-
erly,andtheunitmaybedamaged.
Thedigitalcontrolissettofancycling
mode.
Sincethefandoesnotcirculatetheroomair
continuouslyatthissetting,theroomairdoes
notmixaswellandhot(orcold)spotsmay
result.Usingthecontinuousfansettingisrec-
ommendedtoobtainoptimumcomfortlevels.
Theairconditionerhasinsufcientcool-
ingcapacitytomatchtheheatgainof
theroom.
Checkthecoolingcapacityofyourunittoensure
itisproperlysizedfortheroominwhichitisin-
stalled.Roomairconditionersarenotdesigned
tocoolmultiplerooms.
Theairconditionerhasinsufcient
heatingcapacitytomatchtheheatloss
oftheroom.
Checktheheatingcapacityofyourunit.Aircon-
ditionersaresizedtomeetthecoolingload,and
heatersizeisthenselectedtomeettheheating
load.Inextremenorthernclimates,roomair
conditionersmaynotbeabletobeusedasa
primarysourceofheat.
Unit Runs Too Much.
Thismaybeduetoanexcessiveheat
loadintheroom.
Ifthereareheatproducingappliancesinuse
intheroom,oriftheroomisheavilyoccupied,
the unit will need to run longer to remove the
additionalheat.
It may also be due to an improperly sized
unit.
Besuretouseexhaustventfanswhilecooking
or bathing and, if possible, try not to use heat
producingappliancesduringthehottestpartof
theday.
Compressor does not run.
