Component Identication
EEV Control
• The Electronic Expansion Valve is used to maintain
superheat during both cooling and heat pump operation.
• Superheat (cooling) = Compressor Suction (T3) – IDC
Cool Inlet (T1)
• Superheat (heat pump) = Compressor Suction (T3) –
ODC Heat Inlet (T7)
• The EEV will open if the super heat is too high and will
meter if the super heat is too low.
