5.1 Installing Drives

5.1.1 Installation Rules for Drives

This section explains the installation rules for drives.

■ 2.5" drives

2.5" drives can be installed in the front side of a 2.5" type controller enclosure or a 2.5" type drive enclosure.

Different types of drives can be installed in the same enclosure. Drives can be installed in any slots of an

enclosure.

shows the positions of 2.5" drive slots.

■ 3.5" drives

3.5" drives can be installed in the front side of a 3.5" type controller enclosure or a 3.5" type drive enclosure.
