5.3 Connecting devices to the system unit
On the back of the system unit are the ports for the network connection and the
administration of the blade server.

CB 1 -8 Slots for connection blades. For information on the ports of the connection
blades, see "Indicators and connectors of the connection blades" on page 78.
MMB 1, 2 The management blades have the following ports
1 Service LAN port (as a point-to-point connection, for system unit
administration only, no access to server blades and connection blades)
2 USB ports for backing up and restoring the MMB configuration and for
access to logging information
3 Serial port for a local management console
4,5 LAN ports for blade server management (including server blades and
connection blades)
