5.2.4 Consumption Tab
The Consumption tab enables the power consumption mode for the system unit to be configured and the power
consumption limits for individual server blades to be defined. The tab contains five boxes.

System Power Consumption Modes
One of several power consumption modes can be defined for the system unit here.
Adaptive
Default setting. Controls the power consumption of the server blades according to one of two strategies:
according to the consumption of the blades or according to their priority. Further settings for this mode can
be specified in the second or fifth box on the tab.
I Details of the concept of adaptive budgeting are provided in the last section 5.2.4.1 on page 63 of this
chapter (please read up front).
Minimum
Sets power consumption to the lowest possible value.
I This mode forces a CPU clock with the lowest possible speed, thus enabling the lowest power
consumption to be achieved.
Server Controlled
Enables the settings which can be entered individually for the various server blades in the third box (Server
Controlled Consumption Mode Table).
