TheWeighScalecanbeusedwithanelectroniceartaggingsystem.Duringa
weighingsessionananimalcanbeidentifiedbyreadingitsElectronicID.Youcan
useElectronicIDsontheirown,ortheWeighScalecanalsolinkandstorethe
VisualTagNumberthatidentifiesthesameanimal.TheVisualTagNumberis
whateveralphanumeric(upto15characters)codethatyouchoosetoenter
againstanElectronicIDforagivenanimal.Itmightbebasedonthevisible
numberprintedontheeartagoracombinationofthenumberandthecolourof
theeartag:"1234"or"123RED"etc.
SettinguptheWeighScaletouseElectronicIDs
TheElectronicIDreaderconnectstooneoftheserialportsontheWeighScale.

Cross‐referencingVisualTagNumbers
TheWeighScalemaintainsacross‐referencetablethatlinksananimal's
ElectronicIDwiththeanimal'sVisualTagNumber.Onceitmakesthislink,the
WeighScalerememberstheVisualTagNumberthenexttimetheElectronicIDis
read.
TheWeighScalecanstoreupto21000linksbetweenElectronicIDsandVisual
TagNumbers.Ifthelimitisexceeded,newlinksbetweenanElectronicIDandits
VisualTagNumbercannotbestored.Inthiscase,thenexttimetheElectronicID
isread,itsVisualTagNumberwillnotdisplay.Warningswillappearleadingupto
