The higher the T class the lower the temperature.
Different gases will be ignited at different temperatures. Some examples are given below.

17.4 Testing and Certification
This instrument has been submitted for both European Type Assessment, United Kingdom Type Assessment and
IEC Type Assessment. These assessments examine the design and construction criteria set out above and controls
the manufacture process. This process is defined in Annex II of the European ATEX Directive 94/9/EC. This allows the
instrument to carry the ‘Ex’ logo followed by a summary of the level of protection that is incorporated into the
instrument.
NOTE: This instrument is designed to meet the requirements of class T1.
