The MA-556 provides everything that is on the MA-555, plus connections for transmission of
four contact closures in each direction on the link. Note that the MA-556 is a double-width MA
consisting of two circuit boards joined by brackets; when it is installed at the rear of slots N and
N+1, the PTR-255 must be installed in slot N and slot N+1 must be left blank.
The inputs for the contact closures are optically isolated and can be driven by either a logic output
or switched 5V output, as illustrated in Figure 5-3. The outputs are normally open SPST relay
contacts, both terminals isolated from ground, as shown in Figure 5-4.
