Adding or replacing a
hard drive
You can add hard drives to internal and external hard drive
bays.
Adding or replacing an internal hard drive
To add or replace an internal hard drive:
1 Remove the left and right side panels by following the
instructions in “Removing the left side panel” on page 45
and “Removing the right side panel” on page 46.
2 On the right side of the computer, label and disconnect
the cables for all internal hard drives, noting their
locations and orientation. (You will reconnect the cables
after you install the new drive.)
Tools
You need a Phillips screwdriver to add or replace a hard drive.
