Thedielectricwithstandtest(orhipottest)isatestthatveriesthattheisolation
ofaproductorcomponentissufcient.
Iftheunitundertestfailsthehipottest,donotallowthecustomertousethe
equipment.CallGEHealhcareCustomerSupportforassistance.
GEHealthcarerecommendsthatyouperformthistestwheneverinternalassemblies
areservicedorreplaced.
Youneedahipottesterandshortingbartoperformthistest.
WARNING:
BODILYINJURY—Powerdownthehipottesterbeforetouchingleadwires.With
powerapplied,thehipotvoltagewillappearonallleadwireconnectors
1.Connecttheacquisitionmoduletoahostdeviceusingtheinterfacecable.
2.Connectalloftheleadwirestogetherusingashortingbar.
3.DisconnectthehostdevicefromACpowerandturnofftheunit.
4.Attachtheredleadofthehipottestertotheshortingbar.
5.Attachtheblackleadofthehipottestertothehostdevice'srearequipotential
plug.
DonotattachtotheACsocketgroundlug.
6.Setthehipottestercutoffcurrentto2µAandtheoutputto3000voltsRMSAC.
7.Applythevoltageforaminimumoftwoseconds.
Ifthetesterdoesnotindicateafailure,theunitpassedthetest.
8.Powerdownthehipottesteranddisconnectitfromthetestcircuit.
