Maintenance
Usethefollowingproceduretocleantheprinthead.
1.Dipcottonswabsinethylalcoholandwringouttheexcesssolution,
NOTE:
Donotuseproductsthatcanharmtheheatingelement,suchassandpaper.
2.Opentheprinterdoor.
3.Gentlywipetheheatingelementwiththecottonswabs.
NOTE:
Theprintheadgetshotwhenrecording.Donottouchthethermalprinthead
directly.
Avoidunnecessaryforcewhenhandlingtheprinthead.
4.Reinsertthepaperandclosetheprinterdoorwhentheheatingelementis
completelydry.
NOTE:
UseonlyoriginalGEHealthcarewriterpaper.Thispaperhasaspecialcoatingthat
preventselectrostaticbuildupandcontaminationanddebriscollectiononthe
printhead.Usingotherpapermayresultinrecordingsofpoorquality.Useofother
papersmaywearouttheprintheadprematurelyandmayvoidthewarranty.
RemovingthePrinthead
Usethefollowingproceduretoremovetheprinthead.
1.Beforebeginninganysteps,followtheinstructionsin“PreparingtheSystemfor
FRUReplacement”onpage73.
2.Removetheprintermoduleassembly.
