RunthePatientLeadwirediagnostictesttoverifythateachleadwireis
functioningproperly.See“TestingthePatientLeadwires”onpage59formore
information.
Checkfordefectiveorexpiredelectrodes.
Additionally,youcanusetheHookupAdvisortomonitorECGsignalquality.Itcan
helpyoupinpointwhetherthenoiseiscausedbyleadwirefailure,baselineshift,
muscleartifacts,powerlineinterference,baselinewander,orelectrodenoise.Thiscan
pointyoutothecorrectareasforadditionaltroubleshooting.RefertoChapter7,
RecordingaRestingECG,intheMAC™2000ECGAnalysisSystemOperator’sManual
formoreinformation.
GeneralFaultIsolation
Refertotheoperator’smanualforthissystemtoverifythecorrectoperationofthe
system.
Whentryingtoisolateasystemissue,performthefollowingsteps
1.Verifythatthesystempassesthepower-upselftest.
2.Conductavisualinspectionofthesystem.
3.Reviewthesystemeventlogforerrors,warnings,andinformationalmessages
thatwillhelpyouidentifyandisolatesystemproblems.
4.Performdiagnostictests.
Eachstepisdescribedinmoredetailinthefollowingsections.
PowerUpSelfTest
Onpower-up,thesystemautomaticallyrunsaninternalself-test.Ifalltestspass,
youseethefollowingstart-upscreen.
ThenextscreentoopendependsonthePowerUpmodeselectedinSystem
Conguration.TheRestingECGmodeisthedefaultPowerUpmode.
