the SEND FUNCTION feature located in the RECORD
Submenu. (Note that there are additional send functions,
related to communication with external-devices, which can
be modified as explained in Chapter 6.)
Step 1:
Open the Data Recorder by pushing .
Step 2:
Make sure that the data file you wish to work with is
active.
Step 3:
Activate the RECORD Submenu by selecting it with
or so that it’s highlighted. Selections will appear
across the bottom of the display screen including ITEM and
VALUE.
Step 4:
Press below the selection titled ITEM. You’ll
note that several file characteristics are listed including
SEND FUNCTION.
Step 5:
Press below the selection titled ITEM until
SEND FUNCTION is highlighted.
Step 6:
Press below the selection titled VALUE. Two
options are available:
THICKNESS ONLY – sends only the digital thickness
reading to the file position when
is pressed.
THCK / THCK+ASCAN – sends the digital thickness reading
and A-scan to the file position when
is pressed and
held. Sends only a thickness reading when
is briefly
pressed and released.
THICK + ASCAN – sends thickness value and A-Scan with
all
key presses.
Step 7:
’s function will be set to the last option
chosen.

Files
Now that you’ve created a file, you’re ready to collect and
record measurement data. Chapters 4 and 5 contain much
more detailed information on working with data files.
