Nach Erreichen der Sicherheitshöhe (ca. 70m) und Aktivieren des Automatikbetriebes, läuft der Antrieb
auch bei nicht betätigtem Gashebel und versucht die Höhe zu halten. / After reaching the safety altitude
(about 70m) and activating the autopilot mode, the drive will run even if the throttle lever is not actuated
and will try to maintain the altitude.
Im Automatikbetrieb bekommt das Poti, der Gashebel, eine neue Funktion, die in zwei Stufen aufgeteilt ist. /
In autopilot mode, the potentiometer/throttle is subject to a new function, which is divided into two stages.
1. Von 0 bis 30% wird die Höhenhaltung aktiviert. Mit jedem Eintauchen in diese Gashebelstellung wird
die aktuelle Höhe geteacht und als Grundlage für die Höhenhaltungsregelung herangezogen. / From
0 to 30% of throttle, altitude hold activated. Whenever the throttle is moved into this range, the current
altitude is taught and used as the basis for the altitude hold function.
2. Von 31 bis 100% wird eine Steigrate vorgegeben, deren Wert sich auf eine einstellbare maximale
Steigrate bezieht. In der Default Einstellung sind dies 1,8m/s bei 100% und 0 m/s bei 31%. Zwischen
31% und 100% lässt sich stufenlos jede Sollsteigrate einstellen. Zum Beispiel entsprechen 65% dann
0,9m/s Sollsteigrate. / From 31 to 100% of throttle, a rate of climb is defined the value of which is
based on an adjustable maximum rate of climb. By default, these rates of climb correspond to 1.8m/s
at 100% and 0m/s at 31%. Between 31% and 100%, any desired rate of climb can be adjusted
steplessly. For example, 65% would equal 0.9m/s in this case.

Die Funktion Höhe halten (altitude hold): / Altitude hold:
Immer wenn der Automatikbetrieb wie oben beschrieben aktiviert wurde und der Gashebel in den Bereich
zwischen 0 und 30% gebracht wird, dann wird die aktuelle Höhe eingelernt. Die Regelung versucht nun diese
Höhe zu halten, indem sie dem Antrieb immer so viel Leistung einstellt, wie dazu nötig ist. Sobald ein
thermischer Aufwind das Fluggerät über diese Höhe hinausbringt, wird dem Antrieb stufenlos die Leistung
reduziert und umgekehrt. Diese Funktion kann zum Steuern des effektiven Reiseflugs, oder zum Auffinden
von thermischen Aufwinden genutzt werden. / Whenever the automatic pilot mode is activated as described
above and the throttle is brought into the range between 0 and 30%, the current altitude is taught. The
controller now tries to maintain this altitude by always setting the drive to as much power as is necessary to

Zum Einstellen einer neuen Flughöhe muss der Automatikbetrieb verlassen werden um zu sinken oder der
Gashebel zwischen 31% und 100% nach oben betätigt werden, um zu steigen. Sobald man wieder in das
Fenster <= 30% eintaucht, wird erneut die aktuelle Höhe eingelernt und gehalten. / To set a new altitude, the
autopilot mode must be exited to reduce altitude or the throttle lever must be moved to between 31% and
100% to increase altitude. As soon as the throttle is moved back into the range <= 30%, the current altitude
is taught again and held.
Steigrate regeln (climb control): / Climb control:
Wenn im Automatikbetrieb der Gasgriff/Poti zwischen 31% und 100% eingestellt wird, dann gibt man dem
Antrieb einen Sollsteigwert vor. Im Prinzip wird hier das Variometer auf den Antrieb gespiegelt. Sobald das
Steigen den vorgegebenen Sollsteigwert übersteigt, wird die Antriebsleistung reduziert und umgekehrt. Die
Empfindlichkeit gibt der Pilot über den Sollsteigwert vor. Das direkte Feedback über den Antrieb zeigt dem
Piloten somit schnell und effizient den Aufwind. / If the throttle grip/potentiometer is set to between 31% and
