Nesting
The process of arranging parts to be cut to most efficiently use
material.
Notches
Small V-shaped or slit cuts made on the edges of a part used to align
pieces for sewing.
Online mode
The default mode when the cutter is first turned on and after a system
reset. This mode processes data and cuts a marker.
Origin
The “start” position (X0, Y0) of a marker. This is set at the corner of
the marker closest to the take-off end on the keypad side.
Parameter
A software setting defined in a marker setup file.
Pause
This function stops cut processing after the current cut segment is
complete. It is activated by pushing a yellow Pause switch or any key
on the keypad.
Punch (drill) tool
A cylindrical tool used to cut holes in material.
Servo motor
An electric motor that moves the beam on the X-axis, the head on the
Y- axis or rotates the knife on the C-axis.
Spread
One or more layers of material on the table surface. Also referred to
as a lay.
Take-off end
The end of the cutter where cut pieces and scrap material are
removed after being cut.
