nstrument memory
The instrument setting remain in the memory even when the instrument is turned off and the battery is
removed. When the instrument is turned off, the current settings at the time it is turned off will be recalled
and loaded then next time it is turned on.
Sometimes it is necessary or preferable to start the instrument with the factory default settings. This is
particularly useful when a new test is started or when changing from flaw detection to thickness
measurement. Otherwise it may be necessary to go through all the various menus to reset the options and
parameters. The reset function is included to make it easier to return all the menu parameters to the values
preset by the manufacturer.
10.4.1 Resetting the instrument
4. Turn off the instrument.
Keeping the key pressed down, turn on the instrument: keep the key
pressed down until the reset display appears.
Press the
k
ey to return the instrument to the values preset by the manufacturer.
N.B.: Before performing this procedure, make sure you have saved the calibrations in the memory.
N.B.: Resetting the instrument returns it to the metric measurement mode and sets the video in PAL mode.
10.4.2 Resetting the memory
The instrument memory is able to memorize A-Scan, thickness measurements and calibrations. Accidental
deletion of these values may have serious consequences and should only be done after taking these
consequences into account. To delete the memory follow the steps below:
4. Turn off the instrument.
Keeping the key pressed down, turn on the instrument: keep the key pressed down until
the reset display appears.

ey to delete the RDG memory.
