11.3 C
AL Menu
The CAL menu is the most used menu, it contains the options used to calibration the instrument.
11.3.1 CAL Menu (Calibration)
ZERO
Used to calibration the screen and thickness reading. The zero has a different
value for each transducer. The units of measurement used are microseconds,
and meter and inch mode. Values from 0 to 999999s can be set.
VEL
Used to calibrate the screen and thickness reading based on the sound
velocity in the tested material. The unit of measurement is meters per second
(if metric mode is selected) or inches per microsecond (if inch mode is
selected). For the RDG600 instrument this parameter can be changed from a
minimum of 1000m/s to a maximum of 9999m/s while for the RDG700 and
RDG800 instruments from a minimum of 256m/s to a maximum of
16000m/s.
RANGE
Used to set the A-Scan display horizontal width on the screen. This value is
expressed in mm, inches or microseconds based on the unit of measurement
selected on the UTIL menu For the RDG600 instrument the maximum
inspection field value is 10000mm, while for the RDG700 and RDG800
instruments it is 20000mm.
DELAY
Used to set the delay or offset on the left part of the A-Scan display for
displaying a portion of the signal. For the RDG600 instrument the
maximum delay value is 10000mm, while for the RDG700 and RDG800
instruments it is 20000mm.
11.3.2 AMP Menu (Receiver)
FREQ
This parameter is only present for the RDG700 and RDG800 instruments.
Used to set the amplifier band frequency center to tune the transducer. The
values which can be set are 500kHz, 1, 2, 2.25, 5, 10 and 15MHz in
synchronized band and 1-35MHz in broad band.
The RDG600 instrument has a 1 to 10MHz broad band receiver.
DETECT
Used to select the display mode for the desired rectification of the signal.
You can select from FULL(rectified entire wave), RF(not rectified),-
VE
HW(
negative semiwave) e+VE HW(positive semiwave).
REJECT
Reject is used to remove the background noise from the A-Scan display.
The threshold used is a linear type and can be set from 0 to 50% of the
screen height for RDG600 or up to 80% for the RDG700 and RDG800
instruments. The LED is on when the reject option is enabled
CONTOUR
This parameter is only present for the RDG700 and RDG800 instruments.
Used to outline the signal form, settable from 0 (not outlined) to 6
(maximum).
