11.4.3 P
ROBE Menu
This menu is used to set the parameters related to the transducer used for the ultrasonic test.
ANGLE
Sets the nominal refraction angle of the transducer with the purpose of
calibrating trigonometric measurements.
X-OFF
Used to set the distance between the probe emission point (probe zero) and
the its anterior front. This is useful in trigonometric measurements to more
easily identify the distance between indication and probe.
1/2 SKIP
Enables and disabled with reduced grid with vertical lines which identify
distances equal to half path, full path and one and a half path.
11.4.4 DAC Menu (Distance Amplitude Correction)
This menu is used to create the DAC curves using a series of reference echoes. The DAC curve is the video
tracking of the correlation law existing between the responses from the sample reflectors having the same
diameter placed at different depths.
MODE: ON
Displays the DAC curve on the screen.
CURVE
Used to select the type and number of curves to track on the video, in
particular: only the 100% DAC curve, the reference curves at -6/-12dB, -
6/-14dB, -2/-6/-10dB, -2dB, -6dB or -10dB
TRIGGER
Indicates on which DAC curve the instrument triggers when the echoes
exceed the amplitude. It is possible to trigger on exceeding of the 100%
DAC curve, of the curves at -2dB, -6dB, -10dB, -12dB or -14dB.
MEAS
Used to select the type of indication to supply: dB (value in dB of the echo
compared to the DAC where the reading was made), %FSH (difference
expressed as a percentage compared to the screen height (%Full Screen
Height) of the echo triggering on the DAC where the reading was made)
or %DAC (value in percentage of the maximum screen amplitude
compared to 100% of the echo triggering on the DAC curve where the
reading was made).
MODE:
DRAW
Used to create the DAC curve.
CURSOR
Used to move the cursor on the time base up to include the reference echo
in the vertical band.
POINT
Shows the number of points created by pressing the SET key.
