11.5 U
TIL Menu
Press the  key and then the black key to the right of the word UTILto access the utility menu. The
menus present in this section let the operator configure the unit of measurement, display preferences,
language, back wall echo test, printing options, configuration of the proportional outputs and set the date and
time.
11.5.1 UTIL Menu
UNITS
Selects the unit of measurement from INCHESµSEC orMETERS
CLICK
Used to activate or deactivate a brief acoustic signal each time a key is
pressed.
ALARM
Used to select a lit alarm ($() or an acoustic alarm (*'"#') each time a
gate triggers.
SMOOTH
When the SMOOTH is selected the signal is displayed as a development.
When FULL is selected the area between the A-Scan display and time base
is filled.
11.5.2 VIDEO Menu
COLOR
Selects one of the eight screen color combinations.
BRIGHT
Adjusts the display brightness on twenty different levels. Keep in mind
that higher brightness levels means a shorter battery duration: with the
brightness at level 1 (minimum) the duration is around 16 hours, at level
10 (default) the duration is around 12 hours, while at level 20 (maximum)
the duration falls to 9 hours. These values refer to batteries in good
conditions and at ambient temperature.
VIDEO
Select the video output mode between NTSC (USA) and PAL
(UK/Europe). Screen updating is 50Hz in PAL and 60Hz in NTSC. The
NTSC mode is slightly brighter.
GRATICLE
Selects the grid type:
OFF0 Grid not present
FULL0 Whole grid completely represented on the screen
REDUCED0 Grid in points at 10% intervals.
50%0 Division at 50% of the screen height.
1/2P0 Reduced grid with vertical lines which identify distances
equal to half path, full path and one and a half path.
11.5.3 MISC Menu
LANGUAGE
Selects one of the available interface languages
SPLIT
Used by the operator to display a small vertically compressed A-Scan on
the upper part of the screen, while the most important setting parameters
are shown on the lower half. When this option is enabled ((&*%$() the ,$$
'((&button switches between normal screen, full screen and split screen.
