Step5 Click Properties in the HyperTerminal window to enter the Switch Properties dialog box. Click the
Settings tab, set the emulation to VT100, and then click OK.

Powering on the switch
Powering on the switch
Before powering on the switch, check the following items:
• The switch is sturdy.
• The power cord and grounding cable are properly connected.
• The input voltage is as required.
• The console cable is properly connected and terminal parameters are configured.
Then, power on the switch.
Checking switch boot information
After you power on the switch, the following information is displayed on the console terminal:
