8.1 General troubleshooting
Table 2 shows causes and corrective actions for several common problems.

Problem Possible cause Solution
No instrument power with
AC
Problem with the main
power source.
Examine the AC power at the
electrical outlet.
Defective controller. Contact technical support.
No instrument power with
DC
Battery is not charged. Replace the battery.
Battery does not hold the
charge.
Replace the battery or use an AC
power cord.
Defective controller. Contact technical support.
The battery life is short Insufficient voltage. Make sure that the lead-acid battery
holds 12.6 V to 13.4 V when fully
charged. Replace the battery if
necessary.
Battery power drains
quickly.
Charge the battery fully and let the
battery stand for 1 hour. If the voltage
decreases below 12.5 V, replace the
battery.
