3.2.3 Operating elements on the
vehicle
Accelerators
They serve for driving forward and in re-
verse and simultaneously control the
speed. If the pedal is released, it auto-
matically returns to its zero position and
the vehicle is decelerated to a stop.

Service brake and parking brake
The service brake (Fig. 13/1) actuates
the mechanical drum brakes which act
on the two rear wheels. Before getting
off the vehicle, apply the parking brake
and lock it with the lever (Fig. 13/2). Af-
ter actuating the brake pedal again, the
lock is released.

Pedal for rotary brush pressure
The pedal (Fig. 14/1) serves to increase
the rotary brush pressure applied on the
ground while sweeping. After releasing
the pedal, the rotary brush moves back
to its initial position.
