1.6.1 ZHD+ Transmitter Features
• Linearized Power Amplifier to meet the FCC NRSC-5 mask, or can be re-biased on-
the-fly for Class C FM operation.
• Redundant, autoswitching, IPA amplifiers to eliminate a single point of failure.
• Microprocessor based controller for advanced control, diagnostics and display capa-
bility. Includes built-in logic and commands for switching parameters for all 4 modu-
lation formats, and can monitor and switch RF sources and IPAs upon a malfunction.
• Redundant RF amplifier modules that allow maintenance while the transmitter
remains on the air at reduced power (“Hot-Pluggable” modules).
• Redundant power supplies to keep the transmitter on the air.
• Broadband design to eliminate tuning adjustments from 87 through 108MHz.
• High performance air cooling design using an internal blower.
• Independent power settings based on 4 four modulation formats, including corre-
sponding alternate power settings for use with a UPS or generator backup system.
• Directional RF sample port provided for customer use.
• Available for single or three phase mains power (3 or 4 wire), 50/60Hz. operation.

The ZX transmitter family incorporates many of the same features as the Z-HD+
transmitter in a compact low-power platform suitable for mounting in a standard EIA
