Preparation
Before starting insert the key and follow the
below mentioned procedure :

Turn the ignition switch (1) to “ON” ( )
position.

Confirm that the programmed FI
malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) (2)
glows continuously and then should go
“OFF” once the engine is started.
• To protect the catalytic converter in your
vehicle's exhaust system, avoid extended
idling and the use of leaded petrol.
•
Side stand indicator-Make sure that the
side stand is up. If it is kept down when
ignition key is in "ON" position the side
stand indicator (page 18) will glow on the
speedometer panel.
STARTING THE ENGINE
• Your vehicle's exhaust contains poisonous
carbon monoxide gas. High levels of carbon
monoxide can collect rapidly in enclosed
areas such as garage. Do not run the engine
with the garage door closed.
Always follow the proper starting procedure
described below :
Ÿ Find neutral position & check neutral

If electric starter switch is pressed
continuously and engine does not start,
cranking of engine will stop after 5 secs.
After that rider again needs to press the
electric starter switch.
•
If engine started, cranking of the engine will
stop after r/min reaches more than 1000
r/min under normal condition.
