8.3 Maintenance and
Checks
8.3.1 Wheels
Check (to perform every 150h)
The wheel must be free to rotate
smoothly without friction. The wheel
surface, must always be in good condi-
tion. Maintenance (to perform every 600h)
Periodically check the condition of the
bearings and bushings of the wheels. If
necessary, replace the part (see section 4.4.1
at page 25).
8.3.2 Traction Motor
Check (to perform every 150h)
During normal driving, the power con-
sumption must be between 3 and 5
Amps.
ATTENTION: At the start, the power
consumption of the motor is much
higher.
The carbon brushes of the traction mo-
tor must be at least

inch long. The
insulation of the motor supply cables
should be complete in every part and
show no signs of cracks. The cables
must be flexible. When lifting the ma-
chine to put the front wheels in neutral
by spinning a wheel (in any sense) the
other must turn in the opposite direc-
tion.
Maintenance (to perform every 600h)
Replacement of traction motor Carbon
Brushes:
Procedure:
Secure the machine.
Remove the traction unit from the
machine (see section 4.4.2 at page 26).
Mark the correct positioning of the
motor hood before proceeding in the
operation.
Remove the plastic side covers and
unscrew the screws that secure the
hood to the motor.
Remove the connectors that fix the
carbon brushes to the mains supply
and remove the carbon brushes from
the body of the hood (do not miss the
compensating ring).
Replace the carbon brushes being
careful not to ruin them during as-
sembly.
Proceed to the reverse operations to
reassemble everything.
