3. Inial DIP Switch Sengs
e) The smallest conguraon possible is (2) 4.8 kWh
modules, for a total of 9.6 kWh. The maximum
conguraon within a single stack is (8) 4.8 kWh
modules, for a total of 38.4 kWh. (You can parallel up to
(15) 38.4 kWh systems, for a total of 576 kWh’s)
The BMS and baery modules use DIP switches to operate and
perform several funcons- without certain DIP switch sengs,
the system will not operate as intended. These DIP switches
are ulized to idenfy and orient each module in the stack,
facilitate communicaon between components, connect to Wi-
Fi, check installed rmware, and connect to specic inverters.
Please make sure when seng each DIP switch, that the DIP
switch is completely pushed to the up or down posion. Power
cycling the BMS is required whenever the DIP switch sengs
are changed when the BMS is ON. This is to ensure that the
BMS is operang in the intended mode congured for, as
indicated by the posion of the DIP switches.
Incorrect DIP switch sengs in general can cause:
• Error codes
• Incorrect number of baeries icons blinking on BMS
display screen
• Modules not powering on
The DIP switches on the BMS have many funcons, including:
• Enabling ‘Hardware Detecon Mode’ for detecng # of
baery modules installed.
• Enabling ‘Firmware Detecon Mode’ for checking
currently installed rmware on the stack (BMS, Baery
Modules)
• Enabling ‘Wi-Fi Connecon Mode’ to allow compleng
setup for remote monitoring via the HomeGrid App
a) Keep the hardware
• Each BMS ships with a packet of cables and
hardware (see above)
• Each baery module ships with a bag of brackets
(see above)
b) Open the BMS/Base box rst. Have the base on the
ground before you start unboxing and stacking your
baery modules.

10 STEP INSTALLATION
GUIDE
This guide is specically for a Gen 3 (3
rd
generaon) Stack’d
Series system. The easiest way to tell if your system is a Gen 3 is
to look for the gold Wi-Fi antenna port on the side of the BMS.
All Gen 3 BMS’s have a Wi-Fi antenna port.
a) Li the baery modules with two people (each is 110
lbs.)
b) Remove the protecve black covers o each of the
baery modules and stack the rst baery module on
top of the grey base.
c) Stack the baery modules on top of each other. As you
stack, remove the side panels on each baery module,
giving access to the power buons and DIP switches
for future steps. Be careful with the pins of the
connecon port on each module when stacking.
d) Stack the grey BMS on top of the baery modules and
remove the side panel, giving access to the baery
cable terminals, DIP switches, and various ports
necessary for installaon.
