3. Inial DIP Switch Sengs
e) The smallest conguraon possible is (2) 4.8 kWh
modules, for a total of 9.6 kWh. The maximum
conguraon within a single stack is (8) 4.8 kWh
modules, for a total of 38.4 kWh. (You can parallel up to
(15) 38.4 kWh systems, for a total of 576 kWh’s)
The BMS and baery modules use DIP switches to operate and
perform several funcons- without certain DIP switch sengs,
the system will not operate as intended. These DIP switches
are ulized to idenfy and orient each module in the stack,
facilitate communicaon between components, connect to Wi-
Fi, check installed rmware, and connect to specic inverters.
Please make sure when seng each DIP switch, that the DIP
switch is completely pushed to the up or down posion. Power
cycling the BMS is required whenever the DIP switch sengs
are changed when the BMS is ON. This is to ensure that the
BMS is operang in the intended mode congured for, as
indicated by the posion of the DIP switches.
Incorrect DIP switch sengs in general can cause:
Error codes
Incorrect number of baeries icons blinking on BMS
display screen
Modules not powering on
The DIP switches on the BMS have many funcons, including:
Enabling ‘Hardware Detecon Mode’ for detecng # of
baery modules installed.
Enabling ‘Firmware Detecon Mode’ for checking
currently installed rmware on the stack (BMS, Baery
Modules)
Enabling ‘Wi-Fi Connecon Mode’ to allow compleng
setup for remote monitoring via the HomeGrid App
a) Keep the hardware
Each BMS ships with a packet of cables and
hardware (see above)
Each baery module ships with a bag of brackets
(see above)
b) Open the BMS/Base box rst. Have the base on the
ground before you start unboxing and stacking your
baery modules.

10 STEP INSTALLATION
GUIDE
This guide is specically for a Gen 3 (3
rd
generaon) Stack’d
Series system. The easiest way to tell if your system is a Gen 3 is
to look for the gold Wi-Fi antenna port on the side of the BMS.
All Gen 3 BMS’s have a Wi-Fi antenna port.
a) Li the baery modules with two people (each is 110
lbs.)
b) Remove the protecve black covers o each of the
baery modules and stack the rst baery module on
top of the grey base.
c) Stack the baery modules on top of each other. As you
stack, remove the side panels on each baery module,
giving access to the power buons and DIP switches
for future steps. Be careful with the pins of the
connecon port on each module when stacking.
d) Stack the grey BMS on top of the baery modules and
remove the side panel, giving access to the baery
cable terminals, DIP switches, and various ports
necessary for installaon.
