OPERATION
SHALLOW WATER
OPERATION
When operating in shallow water, use
the power trim/tilt switch (p. 69) to
tilt the outboard motor so that the
propeller and gear case won’t hit the
bottom.
Proceed at low speed, and monitor
water flow from the cooling system
indicator (p. 39) to be sure the
outboard motor is not tilted so high
that the water intakes are out of the
water.
An excessive trim/tilt angle during
operation can cause propeller
ventilation, overheating, and water
pump damage. This type of damage is
not covered by the Distributor’s
Limited Warranty (p. 134).
