Rev Limiter
The engine is equipped with a rev
limiter to prevent the possibility of
mechanical damage from excessive
engine speed.
The rev limiter may be activated
during operation, limiting engine
speed, if the outboard motor is tilted
excessively, or when propeller
ventilation occurs during a sharp turn.
If the rev limiter is activated, check
the tilt angle of the outboard motor.
Check to see if the correct propeller is
installed.
Automatic Choke (types equipped
with electric starter)
The engine is equipped with an
automatic choke so that the choke
system operation is not needed when
starting the engine.
Anodes
The anodes are made of a sacrif icial
material that helps to protect the
outboard motor from corrosion.
There are two anodes on the gear
case, one on the stern bracket.
