OPERATION
2. Set the control lever in the N
(neutral) position.
The engine will not start if the
F (forward) or R (reverse) gears are
engaged.
3. To start a cold engine, leave the fast
idle lever in the OFF (fully
lowered) position.
To restart a warm engine, raise the
fast idle lever.
The fast idle lever cannot be raised
unless the control lever is in the N
(neutral) position.
The control lever cannot be moved
away from the N (neutral) position
unless the fast idle lever is lowered.
4. Turn the ignition switch key to the
START position and hold it there
until the engine starts.
When the engine starts, release the
key, allowing it to return to the ON
position.
If the engine fails to start within 5
seconds, release the key and wait at
least 10 seconds before operating
the starter again.
