OPERATION
To lower the outboard motor, tilt up,
move the tilt lock lever to the FREE
position, and then lower the outboard
motor to the desired position.
Do not attempt to use the power tilt
switch to tilt the outboard motor
down while the tilt lock lever is in the
LOCK position. Damage to the power
tilt system may occur.
T Type
: Do not turn this screw. If this
screw is turned hydraulic oil will
bleed out of the power tilt
system. Should this happen it
will be necessary to consult your
authorized Honda Marine dealer
and have the system refilled.
The outboard motor can also be tilted
manually after opening the manual
relief valve. This feature enables the
outboard motor to be tilted when no
battery is connected.
For manual tilting, use a flat blade
screwdriver to turn the valve
counterclockwise 2 and a half turns.
Close the valve firmly after
positioning the engine.
Be sure the valve is closed before
operating the outboard motor. If the
valve is not closed, the outboard
motor will tilt up when operated in
reverse.
