ABOUT THE COMPUTER FEATURES
This chapter introduces the CT40/CT40 XP mobile computer series. Use this
chapter to learn about the basic computer features, functions, and accessories.
Note: Throughout this manual, all versions of the mobile computer are referred to as the
CT40/CT40 XP unless information is specific to a particular model. The device
applications and settings vary by computer model and OS version. Your computer
may not include all the features shown in the manual.
About the Mobile Computer
Honeywell’s CT40/CT40 XP mobile computer series, built on the Mobility Edge™
platform, delivers real-time connectivity, advanced data capture, and future-proof
investment protection. All models come equipped for fast Wi-Fi connectivity with a
WLAN 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac radio and Bluetooth® (v5.0) wireless technology that
includes Bluetooth Low Energy support.
Wireless WWAN radio equipped models (i.e., CT40-L1N/CT40P-L1N) provide
additional connectivity for high speed data and quality voice support across all
network technologies. CT40/CT40 XP WWAN models also include an integrated
global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver that supports GPS protocols including,
Simultaneous GNSS Receiver Support for GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and Beidou GPS.
The CT40 XP series offers the added benefit of an IP67 protection level and
includes front and rear facing color cameras, warm swap battery feature, a
dedicated push-to-talk (PTT) button for common applications that support PTT,
and an optional USB Type C connector (model configuration dependent). The CT40
XP series is also equipped to support Honeywell’s Device Finder app when the
mobile phone is registered with Operational Intelligence™.
In addition, Honeywell offers some configurations of the CT40/CT40 XP with
disinfectant-ready housings that are designed to resist the effects of harsh
chemicals, see page 96.
