9.0 LITHIUM BATTERY REPLACEMENT
(CONTINUED)
Use the following procedure to replace the lithium battery cell.
CAUTION
The battery is not completely discharged; therefore, DO NOT short the
terminals on the battery with any conductive material.
CAUTION
Internal circuit card components are extremely sensitive to
electrostatic discharge. Be careful not to touch internal circuitry prior
to discharging any static buildup on your person. T o discharge
yourself, touch a grounded metal object such as conduit or a metal
enclosure interior.
1. Disconnect power from the meter at the unit external circuit breaker.
2. Remove the battery from its holder and place on a non-conductive surface.
3. Install new battery into the PCB battery holder.
NOTE: Care should be taken to ensure that the replacement battery is installed
with the same polarity as the battery that was removed. No damage to
the unit or battery will occur if battery is inadvertently installed in the
wrong polarity.
4. Dispose of the used battery in accordance with the manufacturers (Pana-
sonic’s) instructions.
