Why is the HP Network Hardware enclosure front panel Fault/Service Required LED amber?
    • M
      Michael BellAug 19, 2025
The amber Fault/Service Required LED indicates a fault condition. This can occur during I/O module FRU installation if the module hasn't come online and likely failed its self-test. Check the LEDs on the back of the controller enclosure to identify the faulty FRU or connection. Review the event log for specific fault information and follow any recommended actions. If installing an IOM FRU, try reinstalling it and check the event log for errors. If the problem persists, isolate the fault and contact an authorized service provider, as replacement might be necessary.

What to do if the HP Network Hardware power supply Input Power Source LED is off?
    • K
      Kenneth AndersonAug 21, 2025
The power supply is likely not receiving enough power. Ensure the power cord is properly connected to both the power supply and a working power source. Also, verify the power supply FRU is firmly locked in position. Check the event log in the SMU for specific fault information and follow any recommended actions. If the issue persists, isolate the fault and contact an authorized service provider.

What to do if the HP Network Hardware enclosure does not initialize?
    • C
      Christopher MartinAug 25, 2025
Try the following steps: perform a rescan, power cycle the system, ensure the power cord is properly connected and the power source is working, and check the event log for errors.

What to do if HP Network Hardware controller has failed and the Cache Status LED is on or blinking?
    • K
      Kenneth HuntAug 27, 2025
If valid data is thought to be in Flash, see Transporting cache; otherwise, replace the controller module. The system has flushed data to disks. If the problem persists, replace the controller module. See Transporting cache. The system is flushing data to CompactFlash. If the problem persists, replace the controller module. See Transporting cache. The system is in self-refresh mode. If the problem persists, replace the controller module.

Why is the HP Network Hardware power supply Voltage/Fan Fault/Service Required LED amber?
    • W
      Willie JamesAug 28, 2025
The power supply unit or a fan is operating at an unacceptable voltage/RPM level, or has failed. Ensure that the power supply FRU is firmly locked into position and that the power cable is correctly connected to both the power source and the power supply module.

What to do if HP Network Hardware connected host port Host Link Status LED is off?
    • B
      Brett GriffinAug 30, 2025
The link is down. Check cable connections and reseat if necessary. Inspect cables for damage and replace if needed. Swap cables to see if the cable is defective. Verify that the switch, if any, is operating properly. If possible, test with another port. Verify that the HBA is fully seated, and that the PCI slot is powered on and operational. In the SMU, review event logs for indicators of a specific fault in a host data path component. Follow any Recommended Actions. Contact an authorized service provider for assistance. See "Isolating a host-side connection fault" (page 60).

What does it mean if the HP Network Hardware enclosure rear panel FRU OK LED is off?
    • S
      Stephanie GarciaSep 1, 2025
The controller module is either not powered on or has failed. First, ensure the controller module is fully inserted and latched in place, and that the enclosure is powered on. Then, check the event log for specific information regarding the failure.

Why is the HP Network Hardware enclosure rear panel Fault/Service Required LED amber?
    • J
      Jacob JohnsonSep 6, 2025
This indicates one of the following errors: a hardware-controlled power-up error, a cache flush error, or a cache self-refresh error. Try restarting the controller from the other controller using the SMU or the CLI. If the problem persists, remove and reinsert the controller. If the issue remains, contact an authorized service provider for assistance, as the controller may need replacement.
