PrerequisitesPrerequisites
Get help to lift and stabilize the server server when removing the server from the rack. If the server is removed higher than chest level,
an additional person might be required to help support the server weight when removing the server from the tray.
Before you perform this procedure, review the:

A fully populated chassis is heavy. Hewlett Packard Enterprise recommends removing the external chassis components before removing
the server from the rack.
Before you perform this procedure, make sure that you have a T-15 Torx screwdriver available.
ProcedureProcedure
1. Power down the server.
2. Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
3. Disconnect all peripheral cables from the server.
4. If installed, unlock and remove the security padlock and/or the Kensington security lock.

5. Slide the server tray out of the rack:
a. Loosen the server tray thumbscrews.
b. Grasp the tray notch and slide the server out of the rack.
