Installing the PTM22
NOTE: Some effort might be required to overcome the initial resistance of unplugging a drive shoe
assembly from a hot-plug connector. A gentle wiggling motion may aid removal.
c. Fully disengage drive shoe assembly 1 and 3. Continue to slide drive shoe assembly 1 and 3
out while supporting them until the tape drive hardware clears the back of the library
hot-plug connectors.

3. Remove the PTM cover plate.
NOTE: If the PTM cover plate has not previously been removed, each library needs to be pulled
out sequentially from the front of the rack enclosure so you can gain access to the top PTM cover
plate screw on a lower library.
a. Using a #1 Phillips screwdriver, remove the screw securing the cover plate to the top of each
library chassis.
