2. Power down the server.
3. Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
4. Disconnect all peripheral cables from the server.
5. Do one of the following:
If the server is in tower mode, place the server on a flat, level surface with the access panel facing up .
If the server is in rack mode, remove the server from the rack.
6. Remove the access panel .
7. Remove the system air baffle.
8. If you are installing the type-p storage controller in the slot 1, remove the existing rise cage .
9. Install the type-p storage controller:
a. Open the riser slot retainer.
Retain the screw. This screw will be used to install the type-p storage controller.
