4.2.3 Slot Arrangement and Interface Numbering Rules
The Eudemon200 firewall supports various interfaces, such as Console port, AUX port,
Ethernet port, and (synchronous/asynchronous) Serial port,. The interfaces are
configured in the order of sequence number.

2) Interface numbering rule
Eudemon200 firewall interfaces are numbered in three dimensions. The rules are as
follows:
z The interfaces are numbered in the interface-type X/Y/Z format, in which, interface
specifies the interface type (as serial, Ethernet or ATM, etc.), X specifies the slot
number, Y specifies the pinch board number (or is fixed as 0 when there is no
pinch board), and Z specifies the interface sequence number.
z As shown in the above figure, different interfaces of an interface module share the
same slot number X.
z Each interface sequence number Z starts with “0” and arranges according to the
interface module sequence number (from left to right).
For example, 1FE and 2FE modules are installed in Slot1 and Slot2 of the
Eudemon200 respectively. The Ethernet ports are arranged as follows:
z Fixed Ethernet ports are Ethernet 0/0/0 and Ethernet 0/0/1;
z Ethernet port number of 1FE module is Ethernet 1/0/0;
z Ethernet port number of 2FE module is Ethernet 2/0/0 and Ethernet 2/0/1.

4.3 Software Maintenance
Huawei independently develops the Eudemon200 software according to users’
