A.3.2 Category 5 Twisted Pair
Category 5 twisted pair comprises 8-core copper wires. The copper wires can be
identified and grouped according to the colors of their outer insulation layers. Usually,
one pair consists of one wire in color A (referring to a pure color) and the other one in a
mixed color of A and white. Sometimes paired color points are also used as
identification colors. The Category 5 twisted pairs mentioned in this manual use the
former identification method.
