16.2 ICE Torus 500 - Preparing for Shipping (Dry)
In normal operation it is essential to keep a ICE Torus printer in a level orientation, to avoid
ink spillage.
In the event the printer should need to be returned for maintenance or repair (or sited
elsewhere), it is essential to empty the printer of ink.
Follow the procedure in the Technical Guide, ‘Emptying a Printhead for Re-Priming’.
In addition –
Remove the 9 screws (shown in section 8.2) securing the printer cover and open the printer.
Replace the stainless steel fitting located on the top of the ink reservoir with the ‘shipping
cap’, stored previously. (Section 8.2)
Remove the ‘Nozzle Plate’ and carefully clean any excess ink that may be present in the
‘Catch Bucket’, please see illustration below. Carefully store the nozzle plate and screws
during shipping.

Fit the printhead Sealing/Protection plate supplied with the printer using the two screws
provided.
PLEASE NOTE: A printhead Sealing/Protection plate is shipped as standard with each ICE
Torus printer.
