6.8 How Do I Connect an Encoder?
Encoders are used to track the speed of the conveyor and must be connected via the 15 way
D-Type I/O connector mounted on the side of the ICE Torus printer, please see Figure 6.7-1.
An encoder kit, part number - 402275, is supplied complete with an I/O cable that connects
directly into the 15 way D-type connector, located on the side of the ICE Torus printer.
Default settings for ICE Torus encoders are:-
Encoder = disabled
PLEASE NOTE: this setting is a “CLARiTY™ Configuration Manager” parameter and can not
be set at the CLARiTY™ panel.
Figure 6.8-1 below, shows the 15 way D-Type pin connections.
