SD Memory Card Specifications
Specifications
Recommended SD Memory Card
Note: We recommend using SD memory cards that have been formatted on the FC6A Series MICROSmart.
Note: We recommend that important data is regularly backed up on separate media such as CDs or DVDs.
SD Memory Card Status
The status of the SD memory card can be checked with the SD memory card status LED [SD] and the special internal relays.
SD Memory Card Status LED [SD] and SD Memory Card Status
The SD memory card status LED [SD] turns on or flashes when the SD memory card has been recognized, while it is being
formatted, and while it is being read from or written to.

FAT16/FAT32
Note, SD memory cards are supported only when formatted as FAT16. SDHC memory cards are
supported only when formatted as FAT32. Malfunctions may occur if a different format type is used.

File size 5 MB maximum (Plus CPU module 256 MB maximum)

Recommended SD Memory Card SDHC memory card (32 GB maximum)
The SD memory card data may be corrupted by doing the following during access to the SD memory card.
Turning the FC6A Series MICROSmart power OFF.
Ejecting the SD memory card.
When ejecting the SD memory card, do so when the FC6A Series MICROSmart power has been turned off, or when the SD
memory card has been unmounted by turning on M8072.

Standby status where the SD memory card can be read from or written to The SD memory card can
be ejected.
Slow flashing (1 s cycle)
While the FC6A Series MICROSmart is recognizing the SD memory card
The FC6A Series MICROSmart is unmounting the SD memory card because
unmount SD memory card (M8072) was turned on
Do not eject the SD
memory card.
Quick flashing (100 ms cycle) Reading or writing the SD memory card
Off
The SD memory card is not inserted
An unsupported or unformatted SD memory card was inserted
Unmount SD memory card (M8072) is on, so the SD memory card has
been unmounted
The FC6A Series MICROSmart power is off
If the SD memory card is
inserted, it can be
ejected.
