2.11 Wire the Door Ajar Relay
The Door Ajar Relay output alerts personnel that the door is being held, or propped open, after a valid access or REX. For this feature
to operate you must wire a dedicated door contact switch to the door terminals on TS6 (door contact switch input) as shown below.
Once the door contact switch input is opened, the Door Ajar timer begins. When the time reaches the time programmed in the Door
Ajar Time (command 44), the relay energizes and remains energized until the door contacts are closed. Remember you must remove
jumper JP1 for the door contact input to operate.
The diagram below shows how switch positive power (V+) to an alarm device. The Relay is rated to handle 1 Amp of current at either
12 or 24 Volts AC/DC. Alarm device(s) are not included with IEI equipment.
Programming the Door Ajar Time:
The command sequence belows shows how to program the Door Ajar Time. The default value is 30 seconds.
