4) Other Operating Problems
Printer Does Not Operate:
• Power down the printer (set the AC power switch to the 0-
position).
• Check the AC line power by plugging in another electrical
appliance.
• Check that the AC power cord is correctly plugged into the line
power outlet and the power connector on the printer (see Page
14).
• Power up the printer (set the power switch to the I-position) and
make sure the Power LED lights up.
If the printer still fails to operate, call the help desk.
Printer Does not Receive Any Messages from the Host:
• Power down the printer (set the power switch to the 0-position).
• Check that the data transmission cable is properly connected to
the host and to the printer (see Page 13).
• Power up the printer (set the AC power switch to I) and make
sure the Power LED lights up.
• Check that the On/Off LED is on (if not, press the On/Off Line
key).
• Send a printing message from the host to the printer.
If this is not followed by the printing of a document, call the help
desk.
