3 Safety regulations
3.1 General regulations
1.) The accident prevention instructions (German UVV / BGV A-D) must be complied with
when operating the device.
2.) This unit must be operated only by persons who have been trained in its usage and
who have thoroughly studied this Operating Manual. Inadequate knowledge can cause
damage to the unit or put the operator at risk.
3.) When lowering the MICROlight into shaft structures, never allow personnel to stay in
the shaft or underneath the suspended load.
4.) Observe all accident prevention instructions for working on pipelines, earth-moving
machines, winches, lifting and towing devices, and also the safety regulations for
pipeline construction work.
3.2 Special regulations
1.) The cutter motor must not be operated without a cutting tool. Operation without or with
other, unmodified cutting tools may destroy the cutter drive.
2.) Never work without a fibreglass push rod. Otherwise the plate may jam in the pipe (e.g.
in sockets, branches, etc.) and thus damage the hose assembly.
3.) Compressed air must be able to escape when carrying out cutting work in dead end
pipes. In this case, a second push rod can be run parallel to the bubble. However, the
push rod must not collide with the stroke drive.
4.) The cutter motor starts to turn as soon as it is switched ON. Never attempt to grab the
cutting tool! Stopping the cutting tool with your foot or any other means is not permitted.
5.) When inflating the bracing bubble one should not reach between bubble and pipe wall.
6.) Rotation of the cutter head is accomplished by means of an electrical drive. Turning the
rotating drive by hand is prohibited as this can cause damage to the gear unit.
7.) Pressure monitoring is one of the most important tasks when operating the system.
The manufacturer assumes no product liability for moisture-related damage if such
damage cannot be inspected in the service shop within 3 days of it occurring.
8.) The MICROlight must not be operated outdoors without the auxiliary pipe. The bracing
unit must also not be located in front of an open branch line/socket.
9.) The cutter drive must not be used without the camera.
10.) Always use ear defenders when operating the air motor on the MICROlight.
11.) Before moving the rack you must always make sure that the locking pin for the handle
section has properly engaged.
