4.3 Pressure monitoring
4.3.1 Function check
Check the pressure monitoring system before each use!
Procedure:
- If necessary connect the cutter drive to the hose package
- Connect the control unit
- Connect the power supply unit to the cutter and the electric supply (both LED's on the
power supply unit must light up; this is followed by an automatic status test; if pressure
monitoring is OK, the 2 camera indicator lights will flash for 10 seconds, after the power
supply unit has been connected to the electric power supply)
If the function check is unsuccessful, it must be assumed that the monitoring unit is defective.
Serious damage may occur to the robot if the control unit is defective, because leaks are not
indicated. Contact the service workshop in such a case.
4.3.2 Pressure monitoring drive
With the robot and power supply unit connected and the nitrogen supply filled up (see 4.3.4
Nitrogen filling) as well as functioning pressure monitoring, the cutter's interior is permanently
monitored for changes in pressure, i.e. deviations from the nominal nitrogen pressure. The
nominal pressure is 0.8 bar (see 4.3.4 Nitrogen filling). An error message is not triggered if
the pressure is between 0.2 bar and 1.0 bar. However, if the pressure rises above or falls
below these values, this is indicated by the lights flashing on the camera:
4 x flashing:
Pressure lower than 0.2 bar
Leaking
6 x flashing:
Pressure higher than 1.0 bar
Leaking
The flashing sequence repeats after 30 seconds. Work must be stopped immediately! The
cutter drive assembly must be replaced or repaired in a service shop!
Continuing work with a leaking robot can cause serious damage and high repair costs!
Also contact the service shop immediately if the lights start flashing in an irregular sequence!
Continuing with work here may also damage the system.
4.3.3 Inspection after completion of work
The function of the pressure control must be checked again after the cutting work has been
finished.
1.) Charge the device with 1.1 (max. 1.2) bar of nitrogen (LED must blink 6 x)
2.) The nitrogen is then to be removed from the device (press on the valve until the
nitrogen has escaped and repeat after 1 minute). The lights must flash 4 x.
3.) Then check for compressed air system for leaks (inflate the bracing bubble, extend the
stroke and run the cutter motor in the pipe for approx. 3 minutes)
4 x flashing:
No compressed air leaks
6 x flashing or no flashing:
Compressed air leaking out
In all cases of leakage, contact the service workshop! Continuing with your work may
severely damage the device!
If the device is leak tight, refill the cutter with nitrogen (4.3.4 Nitrogen filling)!
