Adjusting speaker output levels
If you used the SET ROOM EQ feature to set up the
speakers, you do not need to complete this task.
To adjust speaker output levels:
1 Press SETUP. The OSD opens.
Note
Speaker size does not apply to the physical size
of the speaker. Speaker size applies to whether
the speaker has the capacity to play low
frequency (bass sound below the frequency
setting on the CROSSOVER FREQUENCY screen)
signals.
If you are not sure which size to select, try both
LARGE and SMALL and compare the sound
quality. Make sure that you set the volume low
so you do not damage the speakers.
When speakers are set to SMALL, you should set
their crossover frequencies correctly according
to their frequency characteristics. See “Selecting
the crossover frequency” on page 14.
When FRONT is set to SMALL, CENTER, SURR
and SURR. BACK cannot be set to LARGE and
the subwoofer cannot be set to NO.
When SURR is set to SMALL, SURR.BACK
cannot be set to LARGE.
Note
When speakers are set to SMALL, low frequencies in
those channels that are below the crossover
frequency are to output from the subwoofer or front
speakers which are automatically set to LARGE when
not using a subwoofer.
Refer to the instructions that came with the speakers.
If the frequency range of the speakers is 100Hz ~
20kHz, set the crossover frequency to 100 Hz (or
slightly higher).
