LFE—(LFE level) Some Dolby Digital or DTS
sources include LFE (ultra low bass) signals.
Select OFF to output no sound from the LFE
channel. Select 0 to set to 0 dB (recommended
value). Select -10 to set to -10 dB for some
early DTS software and so forth.
HDMI—(HDMI audio) The HDMI connection
can carry uncompressed digital video signals
and digital audio signals. Depending on
whether the digital audio signals input into
the HDMI IN are output from the HDMI
MONITOR OUT jack on your receiver or not,
you should set the HDMI audio correctly.
Select AMP to hear the signals from the
speakers connected to this receiver.
Select THRU to hear the signals from the
TV speakers.
A.DLY—(Auto Delay). This function
automatically corrects the audio-to-video
delay between components with the HDMI
connection.
Select OFF to turn off the auto delay
function.
Select ON to turn on the auto delay
function.
C.WIDTH(Center Width). This parameter
adjusts the center image so it may be heard
only from the center speaker, only from left
and right speakers as a phantom image, or
from all three front speakers to varying
degrees. The parameter can be set in 8 steps
from 0 to 7 (default value: 3). This parameter is
only valid when the center speaker is not set
to NO.
DIMEN—(Dimension).This parameter
gradually adjusts the sound field either
towards the front or towards the rear. The
control can be set in 7 steps from -3 to +3
(default value: 0).
PNRM—(Panorama). This parameter extends
the front stereo image to include the surround
speakers for an exciting, wraparound effect
with side wall imaging. Select OFF (default) or
ON.
3 Press PRESET or PRESET to adjust the
parameter.
4 Repeat Steps 2 and 3 to adjust other
parameters.
Using the on-screen display (OSD)
To use the on-screen display (OSD), your receiver
must be connected to a TV through the composite
VIDEO MONITOR OUT jack or to the COMPONENT
VIDEO OUT jacks.
To use the OSD:
1 Press SETUP. The OSD opens.
2 Press TUNE or TUNE to select a menu, then
press ENTER/MEMO (except for TONE
CONTROL). You can select:
SET ROOM EQ—Sets the best listening
environment using the provided setup
microphone. For more information, see
“Setting the listening environment (ROOM
EQ)” on page 16.
SPEAKER SETUP—Adjusts individual speaker
settings. For more information, see “Selecting
speaker type” on page 13.
COMPONENT IN SETUP—Assigns
component video inputs to devices. For more
information, see “Assigning the component
video inputs to devices” on page 21
TONE CONTROLTurns the tone control
effect on or off. For more information, see
“Turning the TONE CONTROL effect on or off”
on page 21.
LANGUAGE—Selects the OSD language. For
more information, see "Selecting the OSD
language" on page 21.
Notes
This function is valid only when the
connected display component supports the
automatic audio/video synchronizing
capability (Lip-Sync) for HDMI. If the delay
time is unsuitable, turn off this function and
adjust the delay time manually. (For details on
the auto delay feature, see the operating
instructions of the display component.)
