Adjusting sound parameters
To adjust sound parameters:
1 Press SOUND PARAMETER. The currently
selected parameter, such as EQ : ~ or L.SYNC : ~,
appears on the display. If the parameter
disappears, press SOUND PAPAMETER again.
2 Press TUNE or TUNE to select a parameter.
Each time you press one of these buttons the
parameter changes in the following sequence:
• EQ—(Room EQ). The room EQ is a kind of
room equalizer for your speakers. According to
the acoustic characteristics of your room
measured by the ROOM EQ setup, the room
EQ automatically adjusts the frequency
response of your speakers.
If you use different brands or sizes of speakers
for some channels or have a room with unique
acoustic characteristics, such as walls,
furniture, and the dimensions or shape of the
room, we recommend using the room EQ.
• Select OFF to turn off the room EQ.
• Select ON to adjust the frequency
response of all speakers to the flattest
response.
• L.SYNC—(Lip-Sync). Some video devices
process the video signal later than the audio
signal. This may cause a slight time delay
between the video and audio signals. You can
use L.SYNC to adjust the time delay between
the video and audio. The adjustment range is
0.0 ~ 9.0 frames (1 second = 30 frames).
• DRC—(Dynamic Range Control). This function
compresses the dynamic range of previously
specified parts of Dolby Digital, Dolby TrueHD,
Dolby Digital Plus, DTS, DTS-HD High
Resolution Audio, or DTS-HD Master Audio
sound track (with extremely high volume) to
minimize the difference in volume between
the specified and non-specified parts. This
makes it easy to hear all of the sound track
when watching movies at night at low levels.
• Select AUTO to adjust the level of dynamic
range automatically. (Valid only when the
digital signals from the Dolby TrueHD
source are being input.)
• Select MAX to adjust it to maximum level.
• Select MID to adjust it to middle level.
• Select OFF to turn off the DRC function.
