5.1 Surround Sound Receiver

To record audio signals:
1 Connect the AUDIO IN/OUT jacks on the audio
recording equipment to the GAME/AUX 2 jacks.
2 Select the tuner, CD, or TV as the recording
source.
Setting the sleep timer
To set the sleep timer:
• Press SLEEP one or more times to select the
number of minutes you want your receiver to
wait before it automatically turns off. You can
select 30, 60, 90, or OFF. When the sleep timer
is set, appears on the display.
Adjusting the display brightness
To adjust the display brightness:
• Press DIMMER one or more times to select
ON, dim, dimmer, or OFF.
Troubleshooting
Before calling for technical support, try the
solutions listed in the following table. If none of the
solutions work, turn off your receiver, then turn it on
again.
Do not try to repair your receiver yourself. This may
void your warranty. Contact qualified repair
personnel.
Note
If some buttons are pressed in the display OFF mode,
the display OFF mode may be canceled (for several
seconds depending on operating status).

No power
Power cord is not
connected.
Make sure that the power cord
in plugged into a power outlet.
Power outlet is not
supplying power.
Plug a lamp or other appliance
into the power outlet. If the
lamp does not turn on, use
another power outlet.
No sound
Speaker cables are not
connected.
Connect the speaker cables.
Master volume is set too
low.
Adjust the volume.
Sound is muted. Press MUTE on the remote
control to turn the sound
back on.
Speakers are not turned
on.
Press SPEAKER ON/OFF on the
front of your receiver to turn on
the speakers.
The wrong input is
selected.
Select the correct input.
Components are
connected incorrectly.
Check the cables for all
components, and make sure
that they are connected
correctly.
HDMI is set to THRU.Set HDMI to AMP.
No sound through
surround speakers
The sound mode is set to
STEREO.
Select a surround mode.
Master volume is set too
low.
Adjust the volume.
The audio source is a
monaural.
Select a stereo or surround
source.
The surround speaker
setting is set to NO.
Change the speaker setting.
No sound from the
center speaker
The sound mode is set to
STEREO.

Master or center volume
is set too low.
Adjust the master or center

No sound from the
surround back speakers
The input signal format
or the current surround
mode cannot support
the 7.1 (or 6.1)
surround.
Under the correct situations,
perform the 7.1 (or 6.1)
surround playback. For details,
see, “Selecting a surround
sound mode” on page 18.
Master volume and
surround back level are
too low.
Adjust master volume and
surround back level.
Surround back speaker
setting is NO.
Select a surround back speaker

No picture
The connection between
your receiver and the TV
are not made correctly.
Check all connections. For more

etc.) is not NTSC.
Make sure that the connected
device supports NTSC. Reset
the video format if necessary. If
the device does not support
NTSC, replace the device with
one that does.
Radio stations are not
received
No antenna is
connected.
Connect an antenna.
The correct station
frequency is not
tuned in.
Tune in the correct station
frequency.
The antenna is in wrong
position.
Move the antenna and try
tuning again.
Preset stations cannot
bereceived
An incorrect station
frequency has been
memorized.
